National Media Development Center (NMDC), a non-profit and social media organization has been established with an objective to promoting and strengthening provincial media services by providing media management and journalism skills.

The nation's most broad-based organization having national networking, the NMDC is dedicated to encouraging local journalism by harnessing them with professional skills and competence. Established in 2007 with a group of experienced media experts, media managers and journalists of Nepal , NMDC promotes and strengthens local media for free flow of information vital for the every citizen and stable democracy. It works to inspire and educate local journalists through professional trainings and advocacies on media management and journalism to ensure those media personnel involve themselves in protecting press freedom and pluralism.

NMDC is committed to and convinced of the fact that independent, strong, credible and sustainable district media service is the only tool to create an environment for lasting peace, strengthen democracy, rule of law and development in the country. This can only be achieved through capacity building of provincial media.
